  • Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care Unit
    A 12-bed ICU with a focus on surgical/trauma including but not limited to: multiple trauma, burns, and patients with surgical complications or critical surgical conditions.
  • Float Pool

    Float Pool staff are prepared to function as staff members in numerous areas, caring for a more stable population in the specialty.

  • Cardiac Intensive Care Unit

    The Maine Medical Center CICU consistently receives high scores for patient satisfaction and quality of care.

  • Medical Intensive Care Unit

    A 10-bed ICU with focus on medical critical care patients including but not limited to Sepsis, Drug Overdose, GI Bleed, Pneumonia, Pancreatitis, Respiratory Failure.

  • Emergency Department

    The Emergency Department at Maine Medical Center is Maine's only Level 1 verified trauma center as well as home to Maine's only Pediatric Emergency Department.

  • Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit

    Our CTICU “Bridge Program” exposes nurses to higher levels of acuity appropriate to their experience level.

  • Neuro Intensive Care Unit

    A 10-bed ICU with a focus on both medical and trauma patients experiencing brain injury.

Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care Unit

A 12-bed ICU with a focus on surgical/trauma including but not limited to: multiple trauma, burns, and patients with surgical complications or critical surgical conditions.

Float Pool

Nursing Qualifications
Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Maine.

A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is preferred. 

Must matriculate into a BSN degree program within one year of hire and must complete a BSN degree program within five years of hire.

Tuition assistance is available for nurses working 20 or more hours per week.

Demonstrated competency in applying evidence based knowledge, theory, practices, principles, and processes of professional nursing.

Evidence of 10 hours of ongoing education per year.
